Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Ernie Oxford in 2000, married for 47 years. She was also preceded in death by her oldest son, Michael Oxford in 2017.
She is survived by her daughter, Janet Bass (Nicky) and her son, Ronald Oxford.
She leaves two grandsons, Jeremiah Oxford (Glenda) and Ryan Oxford (Stephanie) and their mother, Kerry Oxford.
While raising her young children, Marilyn Served as both a Boy Scout and Girl Scout leader in Santa Maria, where she created lasting memories through her dedication and care. During those early years, she and her husband also homesteaded in Alaska before eventually settling in Vacaville, where she raised her family while working at K-Mart.
Later in life, after the passing of her husband, Marilyn moved to Sun City Lincoln Hills where she made her home and became part of the community she cherished.
Marilyn enjoyed traveling. She and her husband took a six month trip in their RV. After losing her husband she took trips with her girlfriends and even by herself. She also enjoyed crocheting, gathering with friends for food and games including bunco. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her daughter was a teacher and Marilyn enjoyed volunteering in her classroom.
Marilyn was a kind and loving mother, grandmother and friend. Church was important to her as well.
A celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Lincoln Community Church, 950 E. Joiner Parkway, Lincoln, CA. Reception to follow.
