

Melvin (Mel) Glenn Burger passed away peacefully at home on January 23, 2018. He was born on April 3, 1945 to Russel J. Burger and Dorothy M. Burger in Dayton, Ohio. He was preceeded in death by his parents; wife, Eva P. Burger; sister, Carol Null; son, Lyndell Brazel; and granddaughter, Lori Carnes. Mel is survived by his sisters, Dee Hiatt, IN; Sandra Berkhouse, AZ; and brother Gary Burger, MI and daughters, Kathy Lucius; Cheryl Carnes; and Connie Boyd; and son Curtis Brazel; and their spouses. Mel has many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mel has resided on his 10 acres West of Lincoln since 1979. He raised hogs and then dairy goats with his daughter Connie. He retired from AT&T after 25 years as a splicing technician. Mel and his wife Eva were very involved with Grace Lutheran Church when it moved to its current location. During his retirement Mel became a licensed locksmith.
A Memorial Service will be held at Lincoln Funeral Home on Sat. Feburary 3, 2018 at 1 pm. A reception will follow at the residence. Private internment will be at a later date.
