Michael Lee Sovenski

Mike Sovenski passed away peacefully and pain-free on June 26, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born in Sacramento, California, on February 20, 1950, Mike spent much of his life in Lincoln, California, where he lived with his family until 1992. Following the passing of his father, James Sovenski, that year, Mike made his home with his sister, Christy Everton, and her family, where he remained a beloved and constant presence for more than three decades.

Mike lived a simple life centered on family and the quiet comforts of home. He was a man of few words who preferred the peace of the ranch over the city life, finding his greatest joy in caring for his beloved chickens and cheering on his favorite baseball and football teams. Somehow, he managed to be both a San Francisco Giants and Oakland A's fan—a combination that always gave family and friends something to smile about.

He became much more than an uncle. Mike helped raise Alise Everton, Julie Hamlin, Tyran Hamlin, and Dillan Everton, offering steady support, quiet kindness, and unconditional love.

To his nieces and nephews, Mike was simply always there. Many have fond memories of him walking them to the bus stop each morning and meeting them after school every afternoon. It was never about grand gestures with Mike—it was the small, consistent acts of love that defined who he was.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, James and Marion Sovenski, and his brothers, Jim Sovenski and Rick Sovenski.

He is survived by his loving sister, Christy Everton, along with countless nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and friends whose lives were made better by his quiet presence.

Although Mike preferred a life out of the spotlight, he leaves behind a legacy of loyalty, gentleness, and unwavering devotion to his family. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

Mike's ashes will be laid to rest at Lincoln Cemetery during a private family ceremony.
