Ronald Roe Campbell

Ronald “Ron” Roe Campbell passed away peacefully at his home in Granite Bay, California, on September 3, 2026, following a short illness. He was surrounded by his devoted wife of 57 years, Carol, and family whose lives he enriched so deeply.

Ron was born on July 11, 1936, and raised in Alhambra, California, by his parents, Martin and Corean Campbell. He grew up alongside his brother, Gary Campbell (Coleen), who preceded him in death, and his sister, Marlene Whitaker (Mike).

Ron graduated from Rosemead High School in 1954, where he excelled as a three-sport athlete in football, baseball, and basketball. After graduation, he began a career with the United States Postal Service.

Fate brought Ron and Carol together at a party where both were invited by work friends. After sharing one dance, Ron left for another gathering—but returned quickly to get to know Carol. That chance meeting began a loving partnership that would span 57 years.

Ron was the dedicated and loving father of Rick Campbell (Kristi) of Spreckels, California, and Lori Campbell of Parachute, Colorado. He wholeheartedly embraced Carol’s three children as his own: Michael Morse (Lisa) of Ben Lomond, California; Jeff Morse (Laurie) of Granite Bay, California; and Greg Morse (Stephanie) of Carmel, California.

Ron and Carol relocated to Carmel, California, where Ron worked for the Carmel Post Office until he founded Peninsula Messenger Service, which he ran successfully for 43 years. Ron is known for employing all his children and their friends who he entrusted with a variety of routes throughout the Monterey Peninsula and Bay Area. After retirement, they made their home in Sun City Lincoln Hills in Lincoln, California for ten years.

Ron was an extraordinary grandfather to Justin Riddell; Gavin Campbell (Meghan); Justin Morse (Brianna); Matthew Morse (Cassie); Ryan Morse (Audrey); Kelly Dodd (Glenn); Cameron Morse; Melissa Morse; Mitchell Morse; Cooper Morse; and Colby Morse. He was also blessed with 10 great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Mayah, Selah, Nolan, Madeline, Amelia, Owen, Dylan, Hope and Joy.

Ron approached life with a great sense of humor, energy and enthusiasm. He played racquetball competitively, enjoyed golf, and loved card games with Carol and their large extended family. Some of his happiest times were spent reading, solving crossword puzzles, watching sports, traveling to Morro Bay with Carol’s siblings, and making memories while hosting large Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners with all his family, taking family and friends on houseboat adventures on the Delta and making memories at Morro Bay, Disneyland, Seattle and Lake Tahoe.

Ron will be remembered for his devotion to Carol, his generous love for his blended family, his intellect, entrepreneurial spirit, and the joy he found in bringing family together. His warmth, kindness, determination, and enduring presence will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

Plans for a family gathering in Lincoln is pending. His family would like to extend appreciation to Joni Corley their Sun City Lincoln Hills neighborhood captain, staff from Sutter Hospice and Eskaton Granite Bay. Please no flowers, instead consider a donation to your favorite charity in his honor.
