Adolf "Lever Bender" Ralph Ohle, age 87, of Lincoln, passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at Bryan West Hospital. He was born August 10, 1936 to Adolf and Anna “Voss” Ohle in Tekamah, NE. He was the youngest of three boys, LeRoy Ohle and Gordon Ohle being the eldest. He attended and graduated from Tekamah High School. He served in the United States Army from January 1954 to December 1956, spending 18 months in Japan.
He worked construction as an equipment operator most notably backhoes. He retired from LES in 1997.
He married Rita Shaw on October 17, 1965 in Edgar, NE. A son Scott was born July 13th,1971 and daughter Ann Marie was born July 5th,1976.
Adolf loved his children, grandchildren, and family, but especially camping and fishing. He worked hard and played hard. Vacations were usually spent at Medicine Creek near Cambridge, NE or other large lakes. After retirement he and Rita spent 16 years traveling North America in their RV. When they were done traveling they lived on Harlan County Lake until moving back to Lincoln in 2017.
After moving to Lincoln He along with Rita Ohle joined their new church family at Word of Hope Lutheran Church in Ashland. There they found a loving and supporting family that became an integral part of their lives.
He is preceded in death by his parents and both brothers, two sisters in-law Peggy Ohle and Barbara Ohle and brother-in-Law Bill Wood.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years Rita Ohle; son Scott Ohle and daughter Ann Marie Ohle, daughter-in-law Samantha Ohle; five grandchildren, Jermaine Ohle, Christian Ohle, Nicholas Ohle, Emma Ohle Wells, and Kiani Ohle; three great grandchildren, Christian Ohle Jr, Isabella Wells, and Eliana Ohle; brother-in-law and sister-in-law LaVern and Rose Mary Shaw, sister-in-law Ila Jean Wood and sister-in-law Joan Sheets; lots of nieces and nephews and lots of friends. Also included are our extended family: Honorary sons and daughters Greg Kouma, Joe Kouma and Dan Nelson, Terry Holt, and Mary Hetrick. Honorary grandchildren, Joe Kouma, Nick Kouma, Mary Kouma, Jim Kouma, Megan Kouma Johnson, Alex Kouma, Sarah Nelson.
A visitation for Adolf will be Thursday, December 14, 2023 at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. A celebration of life will be 2:00 pm Friday, December 15, 2023 at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. 6800 S 14th St. Lincoln, NE 68512.
