Alan "Bubba" Lee Jordan, 80, of Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away on August 3, 2026. He was born August 15, 1945, to his parents Malcolm and Eula (Utley) Jordan of Newbern, Tennessee. When Bubba was a young boy the family relocated to Lincoln, Nebraska, where he remained a resident for the rest of his life. He attended Lincoln High School, where he was on the gymnastics team.
Every job Bubba did involved hard work done with his hands. He worked for several companies as a concrete finisher and helped with the building of Memorial Stadium’s South Stadium. He was also part of crews that built the NBC Bank building in Lincoln as well as runways at Lincoln Airport and Eppley Airfield in Omaha. He was a member of the Omaha Cement Worker's Union.
Bubba went on to do custodial work for the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, and, ultimately, 20 years with Lincoln Public Schools at Irving Middle School. He retired in 2013 after two decades of dedicated service at Irving Middle School.
On June 20, 1964, Bubba married Lana Jean Garrison in Lincoln. Together they raised four children. With the time he spent working, he always held holidays close—valuing family gathered together and the precious time shared.
In quieter moments, he enjoyed fishing, hunting mushrooms, and the companionship of cats. Over the years he crafted many wooden items given as gifts for family and for use around his home.
Bubba was preceded in death by his wife, Lana; his parents; sons Michael and 5-day-old Christopher; 10-day old grandson Benjamin Jordan Bax; great-grandson Archer Ybarra; brother Larry Jordan and sister Pat Millin.
He is survived by his daughter Kimberly (Will) Bax and son Mark Jordan, 15 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law Frances Jordan; sister Debbie Olsen and brother-in-law Allan Millin.
A visitation will be held Monday, August 10, 2026, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S 14th Street, Lincoln, Nebraska 68512, with a Funeral service following at 2:00 PM. Burial to follow in Lincoln Memorial Park 6700 S 14th Street.
