Albert H Hestermann

Born February 26, 1955, to Margaret Joan and Wayne Hestermann at Fort Carson Army Base in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Al graduated from Waverly High School in 1974. He worked at Brownie Manufacturing during high school and continued to work there as a welder until he retired.

Al was kind hearted, loyal, and was always willing to help others. He had an infectious laugh that made his beard shake and brought joy to everyone around him. He was the oldest of the 7 children and took his role to heart. He always made sure to get enough treats to take home to his siblings. Everyone on the playground knew they had better be nice to the younger Hestermann's or Al would show up to protect them.

Al loved the outdoors and anything to do with nature. He spent most of his free time hunting, fishing, and camping. He made sure to share this love of the wilderness with his son, Cody, who was his pride and joy in life.

He is survived by his son Cody (Ariana), grandsons, Achilles and Morgan; his mother Margaret Joan; sisters Angela (Leroy) Latzel, Bev Johnson, Rita (Brian) McAllister; brother Roger (Donna); brothers-in-law Everette Wusk, Dan (Ruth) Walla; numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. His Godson Brandon McAllister, Goddaughter Jessi Richardson and his bonus family Dennis (Pat) Gentry and family.

He is preceded in death by Father Wayne Hestermann; sisters Peggy Wusk and Marcia Walla.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 2:00 pm, at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S. 14th St., Lincoln, Nebraska 68512.

In lieu of flowers, donations will go to the family for future distribution to a charity of their choice.
