

proceeded in death by husband LaRue (Bud) Krogh, daughter Vickie Birdsall, parents Willie and
Chester Buckles, brothers Kenneth, Roy (wife Dolores) and James Buckles, all from Nebraska.
She is survived by her son Gary Krogh (husband Eric Youngberg), son-in-law Stephen (wife
Paula), grandsons Jeff Birdsall (wife Tara), Justin Birdsall (wife Jaime) and two great
grandchildren - Connor and Parker all in the Kansas City area. Also her sisters-in-law are Helen
Buckles (Hebron, NE) and Willa Buckles (Eudora, KS).
Alice was born in 1930 on the Winnebago Reservation where her father was Sheriff. Her family
moved to Ruskin, NE to attend school. After graduation, she moved to Lincoln, met Bud and
married. They relocated to Wichita Falls, TX where both children were born and Bud served in
the Air Force. Alice returned to Lincoln with the children when Bud was deployed. Bud
returned to Lincoln where they bought a new house in Bethany where they lived for forty years
until Bud’s death. Alice then bought a condo at the Cotner Center where both children had
attended grade school.
Alice worked over 30 years at Central States Distributors with her best friend Wanda Ebben.
After retiring, she volunteered at the Lincoln VA.
Alice was moved into memory care at Cedar Lake Village in Olathe KS to be closer to family.
She passed away there with family at her side just weeks before her 93rd birthday. Her energy,
kindness and spirit will never be forgotten.
At her request, there will not be a funeral, but a celebration of life (TBA) will be held in Lincoln
later this fall.
