Alice Mae Kumpost, age 89, of Bethesda, Ohio, died on Monday, April 28, 2025, in Emerald Pointe Care Center in Barnesville, Ohio. She was born in Wilber, Nebraska, on March 8, 1936, a daughter of the late Adolph Zach and Anna Pivonka Zach.
Alice was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Alice was a dedicated stay at home mom until the passing of her husband in 1989. Her faith in her Lord and Savior was very strong, as a member of the Evangelical United Lutheran Church in Lincoln, Nebraska, she served in the Altar Guild, taught Sunday School, and Bible School. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the PTO. Alice loved her flower garden and working in her yard, but most importantly serving Jesus Christ. Time with family was her greatest joy. Alice moved to Ohio later in life to be closer to her daughter Kerri, grandchildren, and great grandson. Her smile would light up a room, her presence was uplifting, and her laugh was infectious. She was loved by so many and will remain in their hearts forever.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Kumpost; stepmothers, Helen and Rose; four sisters, Laverne Slepicka, Evelyn Slepicka, Rose Ann Sykes and Irma Plachy; and a brother, Milo Kubicek.
