Alice V. Spomer, 90, of Lincoln passed away Sunday, June 19,2022. Alice was born on July 17, 1931 to Peter and Eva Stewart. Alice was born in Solider, Kansas and moved to Lincoln at a young age and became a longtime resident of Lincoln, Nebraska.
Alice married Herman Spomer on November 22, 1952 and they raised three daughters. She loved to help people and she made her career as a licensed nurse in the Heart-Cath Lab at Bryan East Hospital. She was involved with the first pacemaker and heart cath surgery.
When she and Herm retired they enjoyed traveling and more family time. Alice was a lifetime learner and reader. She enjoyed being a volunteer at the Lincoln City Anderson Library for a few years – starting at the age of 85.
She had many hobbies and enjoyed playing cards and games. She loved crafts and she learned how to do zipper sand art and in most recent years she loved doing puzzles. She thought and spoke of her family often and enjoyed spending time with her great-grandchildren, loved seeing pictures of them and hearing about all their milestones.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband Herman Spomer; daughter, Laura Erickson; one sister, and one brother.
Alice is survived by her two loving daughters, Virginia (Kirby) Baird, Judy (Dennis) Royer; grandchildren, Megan Royer, Will Royer, Randy (Sharon) Erickson, Ryan Erickson, Jessica (Andy) Kampfe and Jason (Krista) Baird; great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. A private family service will take place.
