Audrey Joan Wild was born August 28,1926 in Lincoln,Ne and soon taken to a new home at 245 N 46 St. A home that would live in her heart forever. On arrival home there were 2 brothers, Larry and Stan. There was little competition as she was not only the baby but the only girl. What fun they had sliding down the stairway and hiding in the tall velvet curtains in the vestibule to glimpse Christmas gifts under the tree. At 3 the depression started. At 7-8 The great heat of the dust bowl, was countered with days at the Hillcrest Country Club. She was a very good swimmer and played golf with friends as she got older. She rode her bike to Irving Jr High. She was being groomed not for chores but to fit in, be elegant and stylish. While attending Lincoln High she was able to drive her mom’s convertible to school. Soon she had many friends loving the rides. At 15 WWII started and she was a girl scout, they rolled bandages to help with the war effort. The family enjoyed many vacations to RMNP and Mn fishing. Feeling she was ready for a new experience she tried a semester at Boulder High. The Lady she arranged to stay with was not what she expected, denying meals. She would find the pastry shop a lovely place to supplement her diet. Here she learned “ there is nothing more important than family” After graduation from Lincoln High she attended UNL briefly fancying a degree in Fashion. Then started working in her dads office. It was during this time she met the man of her dreams William R Wild “Bill” as she called him. They married, had 4 children Bob (Deb), Ann (Jody) Larry and Rick (Cris). All raised in a chaotic, loving home. She was now creating her own family. She loved her garden and flowers, had many varieties of African Violets, enjoyed going to movies, eating out, especially Red Lobster, vacationed at the MN Northshore hunting agates with her kids. She would jaunt to the many twin Cities Malls and restaurants. The birthday parties and and Christmas gifts were many and every bit as eye popping as a Macy store front window in the 40’s. She would always say “ go out and enjoy your life, and that she had a great life. In the end it was all about family. They were the most important thing.

Survived by her children, grandchildren: Aaron(Laura) Melanie and Adam and 6 grandchildren: Zach, Seth, Autumn, Tenley, Claire and James.
