Bobby was born to Dwight and Lucille Sprow on April 8, 1926, in Kansas City, Kansas. Bobby attended the University of Nebraska -Lincoln for three years and belonged to the Tri-Delta sorority. While there, she met John R. Williams who became her husband. They married on July 31st, 1948, in Evanston, Illinois. During their happy union and they had four children: Russell, Alexandria (Peggy), Mary and David. Bobby laughingly told people for years “my only accomplishment was splitting an egg” after the birth of her twin daughter. However, being a wife, mother and homemaker was what Bobby truly considered her most important accomplishments.
Bobby was an avid animal lover and cat enthusiast. Enjoying coffee klatches and playing bridge with her friends, working crossword puzzles, antiquing, reading, and attending Husker sporting events were also important. Bobby was dedicated to her work as a volunteer at Bryan Medical Center for 40 years and accrued 17,537 hours. At one time, Bobby was the buyer for the “gift Shop” for several years.
Bobby is survived by her children Alexandria M Maple (Jon), Mary Williams Dickerson (Frank) and son David B. Williams (Nicole); grandchildren Sean F Dickerson, Emily D Hamner (Marcus) with great grandson Boston, and Callahan J Thompson (Samantha); and step-grandchildren Ryleigh and Noah.
Bobby is preceded in death her husband John R. Williams, her son Russell D. Williams and her significant other, Richard Harnsberger.
Private family interment is at a later date.
