Beverly K Livengood

Beverly Kay (‘Bev’) Livengood was born February 28, 1939 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Ernest and Opal Beaty. She grew up in rural Iowa with her parents and two sisters, Verla Ann and Connie. They had a happy life with her Dad farming and taking care of the livestock and her Mother making food from scratch and sewing nearly everything the girls wore. They always looked stylish!

In high school Bev began a relationship with William “Bill” D. Livengood. They were married in 1957 and created a wonderful life together. Bill had joined the Air Force and the first few years of their marriage were spent in Spokane, Washington (where Kelli was born) and Texas. Eventually they landed in Council Bluffs (where Bill was born).

In 1969 Bill and Bev moved to Lincoln to create Weathercraft Roofing. The entrepreneurial spirit that started Weathercraft helped create many other businesses and Bev was integral to all of them. She had an incredible instinct for design and that gift was evident in co-creating the Green Gateau, and rehabbing several buildings in the south Haymarket district, including Color Court, The Peanut Butter Factory, Mill Towne, and Windsor Stables. She was honored by Lincoln’s Mayor for her work.

Bill and Bev were lifelong fearless travelers. From the early days of their marriage they looked for opportunities to see the world, and they did. Bev loved to treat friends to English Tea Time to share the joy she experienced on their many trips to England. She decorated their home with many items found at European flea markets as reminders of their adventures abroad. Bev & Bill infected the rest of the family with the travel bug, showing them the world.

Bev’s Christian faith was an anchor throughout her life. Sorting through her books gives a great sense of who she was. There were volumes on art, travel, gardening, classic literature, and so many devotionals!

Bev went to be with her faithful Savior Jesus August 19, 2026. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Bill. She is survived by her daughter Kelli (Stu) Kerns, her son Bill E. Livengood, grandchildren Lindsay (Drew) Kerns, Bryson (Alicia) Kerns, Sky Kerns, great grandson Max Kerns, and sisters Verla Ann Beaty and Connie (Leon) Finney. She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.

A visitation will be held Saturday September 5, 2026 beginning at 10:30 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM, all service at Lincoln Berean Church, 6400 S. 70th St., Lincoln, NE 68516. Memorials are designated to The Juvenile Justice Lincoln YFC.
