

Bobby Dee “Bob” Pennington, age 84, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on October 9, 1940, Bob lived a life marked by kindness, love, and deep devotion to his family.
Bob was the son of M.D. and Willie Belle Allsip, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded by his beloved son, Donny Pennington, and grandson, Chad Pennington.
Bob’s legacy lives on in his family, who meant the world to him. He is survived by his companion Donna Schweitzer, his son Clark “Smitty” Smith and his wife Kristi, his daughters Pamela Stroup, Krystal Jackson and her husband Bob, and Jenna Riggs and her husband John, and his sister Robin Pennington. He was also a proud grandfather to 14 grandchildren and a doting great-grandfather to 15 great-grandchildren.
Bob’s life was a testament to perseverance and love. His “Big Bear” hands were quick to lend help to even the smallest of creatures and his heart remained full, especially when surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He will be remembered for his humorous catch phrases, his determination, his steady presence, his solid advice in any circumstance, and his craftsmanship of various works of art to include bird houses, water towers, and windmills.
Though we mourn his passing, we rejoice in the memories shared and the lessons he imparted. His legacy of strength, love, and family will continue to live on in each life he touched.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date to honor his life and legacy.
