Although a man places her childhood was spent, she grew to know and love Lincoln, NE. In February of 1990, Brenda Lynn joined the United States Marine Corps. Amidst serving her country, she founded a new love in her life among her four children. May 1, 2010, her love grew ever greater with four additions to the family. Although in 2021, many hardships were faced, the love for her children never wavered, having seen them grow into the fine young men and women before you today.
Brenda Lynn enjoying many aspects of her life could be witnessed fawning over the linguistics of France; drawing and painting the world through her eyes; to the splendor of music, she did so sing and dance. Of the many things she was known for, her sense of humor, bluntness, and open heart were always on display. While she always aimed to make people laugh, she would be there with open arms to lend an ear; welcoming and inviting, the door was always open for all to feel at home.
Brenda Lynn was preceded in death by her Great-grandmother Bessie Cordelia Grovenor Rockwell, Grandfather Harold June Peterson, Father Dean Ray Hornkohl, and Son Jacob Harold Hornkohl. She is survived by loving husband of 11 years Chris Chebuhar; children Cody Patrick Lennen (fiancée Robin), Brandon Kelly Lennen, Caitlin Michelle Hart, and Sam Michael Chebuhar; step-daughters Emily Chebuhar and Megan Grote (husband Marc); mother Alicia Peterson; grandmother Alice Peterson; siblings Albert Barnard (wife Julie), Barbara Mentgen (husband Chris), Tiffany Linaman (husband Steven), Jason Trepanier (wife Michelle), and Danielle Hornkohl; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, as well as other relatives and friends.
