Brent attended Yankee Hill Elementary School, and then he went to Southeast High School, graduating in 1963. His career began at Hinky Dinky, and in 1967, he was hired at Gooch Foods as a salesman, eventually rising to the position of vice president before retiring in 2002.
Brent met his future wife, Joyce Taylor, during a blind date with a friend. They ended up swapping dates, which allowed him to marry the love of his life, Joyce Taylor Braun. Together, Brent and Joyce raised two children, Bart and Jennifer, in Lincoln, NE.
A true family man, Brent built his home on his grandfather's property, a fruit orchard adjacent to his parents' house, with the agreement that he wouldn't cut down any more trees. Brent had a passion for horses, owning six of his own, and enjoyed waterskiing before falling in love with golf. Brent and Joyce spent 35 wonderful years at the Ashland Country Club, affectionately known as Bushwood. He served as president of the Yankee Hill school board, always taking pride in his neighborhood. Brent and Joyce were known for hosting the most amazing New Year's Eve parties. He cherished his family and was known for his custom-made double flap suits, with his tailor often remarking, "Brent, you are an antique. You are the only guy that wears these anymore."
Brent is preceded in death by wife, Joyce M.(Taylor) Braun and parents Theodore and Louise (Dart) Braun.
Brent is survived by his son Bart (Kerri) Braun, daughter, Jennifer (Dave) Keitges; and grandchildren, Chase (Hannah) Keitges, Logan Keitges, Allyson Keitges, Lauren Braun, Cole Braun, and Nolan Braun.
He will be remembered for his humor, lightheartedness, and the joy he brought to those around him.
