Cailan was born September 2, 1991 in Columbus to Keenan and Sheila (Resh) Shotkoski. He attended and graduated from Twin River Public Schools. Following high school, he attended WyoTech in Laramie, WY with a diploma in Automotive Technology and Offroad Performance.
Cailan enjoyed mechanics and was talented with his hands, he could build about anything. He was an old soul with a gentle heart and found his greatest joy in the beauty of the outdoors while hunting and fishing.

His parents Keenan (Debbie) Shotkoski of Genoa and Sheila Shotkoski of Lincoln.
Brother Chayne (Courtney) Shotkoski and their daughters Cecelia and Lucy of Kearney.
Sister Charissa (Tucker Brooks) Shotkoski and their daughter Marleigh of Cedar Bluffs.
Sister Isabella (Johnny Martin) Shotkoski of Omaha.
Grandparents Carolyn Shotkoski of Genoa and James and Sharon Resh of Silver Creek.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather Henry "Hank" Shotkoski.
A private family ceremony will be held at a later date.
