

Carl L. “Pete” aka (Toby the Clown) Bornemeier, 83, of Lincoln, passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2016. He was born in Alvo, NE to Carl and Iva (Bird) Bornemeier. He spent his early years being raised on a farm near Murdock, NE. Pete served in the Army during the Korean War. Favorite pastimes include fishing, hunting, camping and gardening. He was instrumental in the organization of special needs Boy Scouts Troop and Cub Scout Pack. In 1960 Pete and his wife Karen became foster parents for special needs children and adults. They continued this for 27 years in which 120 came and went through their home. Pete, aka (Toby) became a Shrine clown. He loved performing at the Circus and anywhere the Shrine had an event. 4 sons and their wives survive him. Andy and Kenneth of Lincoln, Robert (Deb) of W, Memphis AR. Doug (Jackie) of Beatrice, NE. 3 Daughters: Vanessa and Carla Sue of Lincoln, Rhonda (Merle) Eggererling of Milford, NE. 4 Step-children: Sherrie Bice, Doug and Robert Bornemeier and Phyllis Wolf. Many other family members and friends. Preceded in Death by, Wives: Karen and Twyla, Parents, Son: Ronnie, Sister: Donna, Brothers: Dick, Gary and Hank.
