Carol A. Lord

Carol was born on December 28, 1942, to Arthur and Beatrice LaRocca in Bronx, New York. She spent much of her youth riding horses and working on her pencil sketchings. She was joined in marriage to Austin Lord on December 14, 1962, and they had 32 loving years together until his untimely death in December of 1994. They welcomed their first daughter, Denise, in April of 1963; and their second daughter, Nicole, in October of 1968. Carol was a Star Tran bus driver for 31 years until her retirement in 2010, after she spent her time visiting her family and friends, swimming in her pool, relaxing, and sitting at her dining room table working on puzzle books.

Carol was a woman of love and strength, with a deep devotion to her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughters, Denise Lord or Lincoln, NE, and Nicole (Craig) Oehring of Lawrenceville, GA; her brother, Robert LaRocca of Colorado; two grandsons, Stephen (Trista) Lord of York, NE, and Austin Oehring of Lawrenceville, GA; four great-grandchildren, Quinn, Ryan, Peyton, and Owynn Lord of York, NE; her beloved dog, Violet Rose; and many bonus children and friends.

Carol was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Austin, whose memory she cherished throughout her life; her parents, Arthur and Beatrice; her sister, Joanne; a brother, Richard; and her niece, Donna.

Carol's unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A graveside memorial service to honor Carol's life and legacy will be held on Monday, June 2, 2025 at 12:00 PM at Lincoln Memorial Park and Cemetery , 6700 S. 14th Street, Lincoln, NE 68512. Family and friends will meet at Gate 2 prior to the service. All are welcome to attend.
