Carol J Westover

Carol graduated from Naponee High School in Nebraska. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Nebraska Wesleyan University, and was also a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority. Carol taught elementary education for Lincoln Public Schools for over 20 years.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Myrtle Chapter 94 O.E.S., LPS Retired Teachers Association. Carol was also in the Lincoln Cribbage League, the Saturday Morning Coffee Group, and various Bridge groups.

She was an avid card player, and sports fan. Carol especially enjoyed the NY Yankees, Nebraska Wesleyan Football, and UNL football.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ray Westover; son, Steve Westover; and her parents.

Carol is survived by daughter, Karen Westover; son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Leslie Westover; daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Mike Olenski; grandchildren, Elizabeth and Crayton Jirovsky; great-granddaughter, Ella Grace Jirovsky; cousins and many friends.

Celebration of Carol’s Life will be Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 11 AM, First United Methodist Church, 50th and St. Paul. Visitation will be Friday from 4-8 PM, with family greeting from 5-7 PM, Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. Memorials can be given to the Westover Scholarship at NWU, the Steven Westover Scholarship with the LPS Foundation, or Sumner Place at 1750 So. 20th Street, 68502.
