Carroll E. "Butch" Crist

Carroll was born on June 20, 1938 in Portland, OR, but was raised in Snyder, NE by his mother, Virgie (Robart) Crist. He graduated from Snyder High School in 1956. He was united in marriage to Jenna Kay Schulenberg on August 21, 1959 in Lincoln, NE. They were blessed with five children – Randall, David, Jane, Pamela, and Rustin.

Following high school, Carroll served in the Army and was honorably discharged in 1959. He then made his career as a partner of Knight Plumbing and worked part-time in retirement for Kiner Supply Company. He thoroughly enjoyed fishing, helping with kids fishing clinics, and was a longtime blood donor through the Nebraska Community Blood Bank. He was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church and Christ Lincoln Church.

Carroll is survived by his wife, Jenna Crist of Lincoln, his children, Dr. Randall (Deanna) Crist of Omaha, David (Julie) Crist of Lincoln, Jane Rosenau of Lincoln, and Rustin (Ildi) Crist of Chicago, IL, his grandchildren, Ashley (Cody) Potter of Hickman, Abby (Ben) Hostetler of Palmyra, Lyndsey Crist of Lincoln, Dr. Alexa (Wyatt Suddarth) Rosenau of Lincoln, and Aleah Rosenau of Lincoln, and one great-grandchild, Lainey Potter.

He was preceded in death by his mother, two siblings, Beverly Bower and Charles “Wes” Crist, daughter, Pamela Crist, and son-in-law, Dr. Perry Rosenau.

Carroll was cremated and there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held on December 5th at 2:00 PM at the Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
