

Carter D. Harvey age 83 of Lincoln passed away on January 11, 2017. He was born on June 24, 1933 in Hiawatha, Kansas to William Mitchell and Ora Lee (Burch) Harvey. Carter married Lois Bland on October 14, 1951 in Horton, Kansas. Carter began his career with the Kroger Company, working his way up to store manager. He was one on the youngest store managers at the age of 19. He joined the Fleming Company in 1959 and moved his family to Lincoln in 1967, when he was promoted to sales manager of the Lincoln division. In 1974 Carter was promoted to division president. He always considered Fleming as his second family and retired in 1995. Carter enjoyed fixing and tinkering with old cars. In retirement he built a 1932 Ford Coupe. He also enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting and vacations with the family. Carter is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lois; daughters, Sherry Niederhaus of Lincoln; Su Harvey and Nick Armijo of Eagle; son, Mark and Teresa Harvey of Smithville, Missouri; 6 grandsons; 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara and Bob Hirsch of Powhattan, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, sons-in-law, Michael Niederhaus, David Krueger, granddaughter, Jessica Niederhaus, brothers, Duane and David; infant brother, Fred. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will be in Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to family for later designation.
