Cathy enjoyed people and would often 'shoot the breeze' with anyone she met. One would often find Cathy right in the middle of social gatherings. She was a person with a tremendous heart and would never forget a name, birthday, or the personal details of anyone she befriended or loved. She loved children and treated all children in her life like her own grandchildren. Cathy had an incredible sense of humor and often would share her playful jokes or opposing opinions without hesitation. Cathy thoroughly enjoyed shows on TV land, as well as her soap operas and rarely missed a program. Later in life, Cathy discovered that she loved to travel and had visited Chicago, IL, Iowa, Kansas and Oklahoma to see extended family. Cathy was a beloved member of Region V Services of Lincoln and will be cherished among the many that she knew there.
Cathy is survived by her nephew Rick Hansen, her niece Amy Lysko/spouse John Lysko with children Jackson & Emily Lysko. Her cousin Ruthann Rivers/spouse Larry Rivers. Additional family include the Ray and McCullough family with many grandchildren, as well as extended family & friends. Cathy was preceded in death by her parents Emma and Wilhelm (Bill) Hansen, her sister Carolyn Hansen and brother-in -law John Hansen.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 23, 2021, from 1:00-2:00PM, at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. 6800 S. 14th St, Lincoln, NE. The Funeral Service will follow at 2:00pm. Interment at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. 6700 S. 14th St, Lincoln, NE.
