

Crystal was born on August 31, 1929, in Panama, Nebraska, to Ben and Anna Hietbrink. She was the sixth of seven children and grew up in a loving family. After graduating from high school, she attended Peru State Teachers College and began her teaching
career, spending two years in a one-room schoolhouse in Roca, Nebraska.
On June 17, 1949, Crystal married the love of her life, Neil Rollf. Together, they shared 51 wonderful years of marriage and built a life centered on family, faith, friendship, and community. They began their married life in Lincoln, Nebraska, where they raised their three sons. Later, Neil's career with Russell Stover Candies brought them to Leawood, Kansas, where they lived for 14 years. In 1990, Crystal and Neil retired to Peoria, Arizona. Crystal remained there until 2018, when she moved to Overland Park, Kansas, to be closer to her family.
Crystal believed in staying active and engaged throughout her life. She was a devoted member of the Willowbrook United Methodist Church Choir and the Desert Belles singing group, sharing her love of music through performances at retirement communities, church events, and civic organizations. A talented pianist and enthusiastic singer, she brought joy wherever she went. Crystal was also an avid golfer, playing several times a week until she was 85.
Known for her warm hospitality and vibrant spirit, Crystal loved entertaining family and friends. Her patio parties became treasured gatherings of laughter, conversation, and lasting memories. Above all, she cherished time with those she loved.
Crystal was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Anna Hietbrink; her beloved husband, Neil Rollf; her brothers, Jack, Tom, Ray, and Ken Hietbrink; and her sisters, Myrt Mulder and Amy Wilson.
She is survived by her sons, Jerry Rollf of Lincoln, Nebraska; Michael Rollf and his wife, Vicki, of Overland Park, Kansas; and Danny Rollf and his wife, Sue, of Leawood, Kansas.
She is also survived by her granddaughter Alicia Beal of Overland Park, Kansas, her grandson Bobby Creager of Newnan, Georgia, and granddaughter Carolyn Raney and her husband, Jehren, of Overland Park, Kansas. She is also survived by her loving great-grandchildren, Kayla Beal, Jay Beal, Amora Raney and Roman Raney.
Crystal's kindness, optimism, musical talents, and love for family will be remembered by all who knew her. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched and the family she cherished.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 South 14th Street, Lincoln, Nebraska 68512.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial donations to Willowbrook United Methodist Church, 19390 N 99th Ave Sun City, AZ 85373.
