

Dana Elaine Miller was born on October 17, 1952 in Chandler, Arizona and died at the age of 73 on November 9, 2025 from complications related to scleroderma. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon Duane Miller and Hazel Jean (Hamblin) Miller and brother, Steven Miller. Survivors include her wife, Annette Miller of Lincoln, Nebraska, brothers Trace (Katie) Miller of Omaha, Nebraska, Lon (Trish) Miller of Chandler, Arizona, nephews, Max (Rachel) Miller of Ankeny, Iowa, and Marcus ((Alexa) Miller of Omaha, Nebraska. Dana is also survived by a dear friend she knows as her "sister," Robyn Fees of McKinney, Texas, a friend she calls "daughter", Carolina (Luis), and grandchildren Diana, Eusebio, Melissa, and Laura; and faithful companions, Charlie and Jack.
Dana graduated from Benson High School, Omaha, Nebraska in 1970. In 1976 she joined the army and received a medical retirement in 1990. She often spoke fondly of her basic training buddies with whom she maintained contact throughout her life. In 1995 she graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a degree in sociology.
She met her wife, Annette Miller in 1998 and on July 31, 1999 she and Annette became life partners with legal marriage following on July 1, 2013. In 2003 they moved to Coachella, CA where Dana had the privilege and joy of working in the Coachella Valley Unified School District as an educator. Much of her life she worked at jobs using typing and data entry skills. Teaching was the profession of her heart. To this day she is fondly remembered by students, families and staff. Dana and Annette returned to Nebraska in September 2023 making their home in Lincoln.
From an early age Dana enjoyed motorcycle riding with traveling many miles solo or with groups across this beautiful country. Upon retirement from motorcycles, photography became a way to capture the beauty in her life. Her adventurous spirit continued throughout her life with bicycling, skydiving and roller coasters. She was a professional tennis fan and volunteer at the Tennis Gardens, Indian Wells, California. Dana served the homeless population at the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission as well as prepared and delivered food to those in need on the streets within an area of Indio, California. She was known for her kindness, generosity, optimism, humor, and belief that the greatest band ever was the Beatles.

A Celebration of Life will take place at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, located at 6800 South 14th Street Lincoln, Nebraska 68512 on November 17, 2025 at 2:00 p.m.
