Actually,  the Soul Design Workbook was a collaborative project with Andrea Ann Lutz that includes a workbook and meditation tape.  While they are both credited as co-authors on the workbook cover, Andrea exclusively authored all text in the workbook.  Darla wrote and recorded the the mediations on the accompanying cassette tape. Soul Design was and is an incredibly beautiful, creative and deeply insightful yet simple guide meant to help readers discover what their best, most beneficial self is and how  to achieve their highest good.  The book and tape were written ahead of their time and not accepted by publishing houses of the day.  Committed to seeing their creation come to fruition, Andrea used her own money to self publish the first several hundred copies of the workbook and tape which they had hoped to promote and sell themselves.

I haven't seen Darla in more than 30 years, but her impact on my life has remained constant during all those years since first meeting.  Darla taught a visualization/meditation class at the Lincoln city downtown Benett MartinLibrary.  It was about 8,  hour long sessions back in the late 70ties over the lunch hour.   Sometimes it was so relaxing and peaceful that I'd fall asleep.   After that ended I probably saw Darla only a couple of times.  At our last meeting  sometime in the early 90ties she mentioned  the Unity philosophy.  I hadn't heard of it .  But in 2021 a friend brought up the movement again and since then I've been zooming into Unity services at Unity By the Shore in Neptune  N. J. each Sunday morning.  This morning's topic was on "silence" and "stillness," and it brought Darla to mind.  In checking on Google I sadly found her obituary.  
I'm sure that it is a difficult time for Darla's family and close friends.  And I'm saddened by her passing.  But, my life changing experience knowing Darla is just one of many, many more that could be shared.  Know that she will be remembered by many of us.

So sorry to hear of the loss of Darla!  Jean and I have many found memories of our younger years together !  Always had fun with overbite sleepovers !  Lots of memories during our years at Long Valley  school !  Thought and prayers for the family!!

Beauty, brains , and a heart full of love for others and the Lord- that was Darla.  She was my very first "best friend".   Fun days and times spent in grade-school.  Someone that made the world a better place. She was a special friend and so loved.

Darla was a special person. She helped me so many times during my lifetime. Rest in peace dear friend.

I had the great honor of meeting Darla at a meditation and also spent an afternoon with her at her home. Our time together was short - probably about 5 hours total. But her impact was life changing. She changed the course of my healing journey.  When I was told she was nearing the end, I immediately cried and that is saying something for someone who hates emotion!  I hope Darla’s family can find peace during their grief by knowing what an impact Darla had on others.  I will be forever grateful for her appearance in my life and I have great joy in thinking of her returning home to be where she “fits in.”

My condolensces for Darla's family and friends for their loss.  I remember Darla as a  deeply spiritual soul and a devouted Oblate servant who practiced faith healing through meditation,  prayer and numerous retreats.   She will be dearly missed by her loved ones and those whose lives she touched.  May she rest peacefully now in the arms of her creator.  May those bereaved  by her death find comfort from the love she gave them and the memories they will carry always.

I am  sorry to hear about the passing of Aunt Darla. My prayers for  all of her family and friends during this difficult time. May you find comfort in the love and memories you shared with her, and may she rest in peace. My thoughts are with you all.

Darla was one of the most gracious souls I’ve met. I learned so much from her. I’m very sad to hear of her passing.
