David James Medinger, age 67, of Loveland, Colorado passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2024. He was born on September 15, 1956 in Schuyler, Nebraska. He passed away in Loveland, Colorado on January 11, 2024 at the age of 67.
Dave was raised on a farm along the south bank of the Platte River where he developed his hunting and fishing skills. He graduated from David City Aquinas High School in 1974. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Architectural Design from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln in 1978. He was a dedicated Cornhusker football fan and cheered on the Huskers in Memorial Stadium for many years. He started his professional career in March 1979 with the Nebraska Department of Roads - now Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT). He held several positions during his 39 year tenure including bridge design and highway pavement management coordinator. He retired April 1, 2018.
He married Janalee Hayes on May 21, 1983. They had two sons, Bradley David (Meagan) and Scott Robert. Along with one grandson, Samuel David.
He was predeceased by his parents Donald and Irene Medinger, sister Donna, brothers Daniel and Donald and nephew Mark. He is survived by his wife Jan, sons Brad and Scott, daughter-in-law Meagan, grandson Sam, sister Diana (Galen) and brothers Dennis (Betty) and Duane.
