He graduated from Lyons High School in Lyons, Kansas in 1968, where he was an avid golfer and won several speech and debate awards. He traveled for a few years before ending up in Grand Island, Nebraska where he met his wife, Chris, while coaching her softball team. They married in 1979 and have resided in Lincoln for the last 39 years.
David worked in the car business for over 30 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, playing golf, watching his favorite sports teams, reading, and working on crosswords.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 45 years, Chris; children, Josh (Stacey) Middleton, Liz Middleton; granddaughter, Kera Pinnick; sister, Sue Middleton, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. David was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, and brother, Phil Middleton.
A visitation for David will be held Thursday, August 29, 2024 from 5-7pm at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 South 14th St Lincoln, Nebraska 68512. A funeral service will be held Friday August 30, 2024 at 10am at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. lincolnfh.com
