Donald Jim L. DeFreece

Donald L (Jim) DeFreece age 86 of Lincoln died February 24 surrounded by his family. He was born in Burr Nebraska to Ben and Cora DeFreece. He was a member of Holy Savior Lutheran Church. Jim joined the U.S. Navy in 1945. Married his wife Marilyn in 1949 and was blessed with 7 children. His career began as a large equipment operator along with farming around Burr and Palmyra Nebraska. His love for mechanics began at an early age which eventually led him to the ownership of Jim DeFreece Auto Parts until retirement. Survived by his wife Marilyn of 65 years, daughters Karen (Dave) Larsen, Dianne DeFreece, Susan DeFreece, Patty (Marty) Schwab, Donna (Jerry) Satterthwaite, Sherri (Mark) Dreeszen. 17 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. 5 sisters and 1 brother. He was preceded in death by parents and son Jimmy. Funeral Service will be at 10:30 AM Saturday February 28, 2015 at Holy Savior Lutheran Church (4710 N. 10th St) in Lincoln. Interment will be at Lincoln Memorial Park at 1:30 PM on Saturday. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 PM on Friday at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home (6800 S. 14th Street).
