Growing up, she attended Lincoln High School. After high school, she worked for many years at Lincoln Public Schools Transportation, Bauer's Chocolates, Inc., various positions within University of Nebraska-Lincoln, doctor's offices, and local hospitals. In 2020, she retired and was able to focus on activities she loved like gardening, landscaping, crafting, coloring, and solving word searches. Possessing a true servant's heart, Doni faithfully cared for family and friends through delicious cooking and baking. She was a lifetime fan of Huskers football, Kansas City Royals baseball, Kansas City Chiefs, and the Buffalo Bills. Above everything else, she deeply loved her family, decorating for the holidays, and her unwavering faith in God.
Doni is survived by her children David Lee Turner Jr., Daniel Ray Turner, Dorene "Dori" Lynn West (Todd); grandchildren Sydney Rae Turner, Jared Lee Turner, Hailee Marie Turner, Dalton Taylor West, Tori Rain West, and Dawson Tyler West; siblings Jack Havel & Shirley, Fred Havel, Boni (Havel) Hoss, Larry & Shannon Vlasnik, Willie & Roni Vlasnik; nieces & nephews and dear friends. She is predeceased by her parents, grandparents, and sisters, Lynn Roth and Pamela Havel.
A visitation for Donita will be held Monday, April 8, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S. 14th St., Lincoln, NE 68512, followed by a funeral service on Tuesday, April 9 at 2:00 PM.
