Doris Mae Roberts

Doris M. Roberts, 86 of Lincoln passed away January 14, 2015. Doris Mae Roberts was born May 30, 1928 to LeRoy and Rose (Kent) Simons at Grand Island, NE. She was a lifetime homemaker, wife, mother grandmother, and great-grandmother . She was “Aunt Doris” to everyone. She was a morning cook at Lincoln General Hospital; an avid seamstress and baker, and enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She was a member of St. James United Methodist Church. Survivors include her children, Gary (Geri) Roberts; Jo (Jim) Lee; Deborah (Larry) Scherer and Rochelle (Jim) Nickel; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Gerry Bolt; brothers, Bill Simons; Howard (Carol) Simons and Dean Simons. She was welcomed into heaven by her parents; husband Roy J. Roberts; daughter, Rojene; granddaughter, Emily; great-grandson, Carter; one sister and five brothers. If Aunt Doris ever made anything for you, please pay it forward. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Saturday January 17, 2015 at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Lincoln Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 PM on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to Sewing for Babies or Project Linus.
