Doris Jean Schluter

Doris Jean Schluter, 91, went home to be with the Lord August 30, 2017. She was born on November 21, 1925, in York, Nebraska, to Harrison and Esther Gould. Doris married Leonard J Schluter in 1941, and they moved to Lincoln in 1945. They made Lincoln their home, raising five children, before retiring to Johnson Lake in 1986. Doris returned to Lincoln in 2011, to be close to her adult children, and lived on her own until her death. She was a past member of the Eastern Star, the Lincoln Women's Bowling Association, and babysat for dozens and dozens of children while raising her own children. She was truly loved by all who knew her and most referred to her as "Mom." She was proceeded in death by her husband, Leonard, grandson Troy Mitchell of Lincoln, her parents and four of her brothers and sisters. She is survived by: Sister Marian (Edward) Sexton of Lincoln, NE; Son Leonard L. (Barbara) Schluter of Lincoln, NE; daughter Carol (Rodney) Mitchell of Lincoln, NE, Son Ronald (Sara) Schluter of Scottsbluff, NE; daughter Cindy (Scott Bechtolt) Schluter of Lincoln, NE; and son Robert Schluter of Lincoln, NE. Grandchildren include: Steve Schluter of Lincoln; Ann Hirschfeld of Lincoln; Jennifer (Roberto) Cardenas of Calabasas, CA; Michael (Emily) Schluter of Greeley, CO; Alexandria Schluter of Paris, France; and Jessica Schluter of New York City, NY. She had many Great-Grandchildren as well. Private Family Service.
