Dorothy Burns, 86 of Lincoln passed away October 28, 2014. Dorothy M. Burns was born June 5, 1928 to Clinton and Charlene (Bridge) Rhodes at Marysville, KS. She was united in marriage to John Burns on June 26, 1948. She spent her life as a loving wife, mother and grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a Girl Scout leader and a 4-H leader. She loved to sing and play the piano as well as play hand and foot with her friends at Northgate. She enjoyed dancing with the High Flyers Square Dance Club; but above all, she cherished time spent with her family. Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Char Kabat; Terri Burns and Kathy (Darroll) Sissel; 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, and her sister, Betty (Gary) Sides. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband John; son in law, Tony Kabat; and brothers, Charles and Gordon Rhodes. A Celebration of Dorothy’s Life will be at 3:00 PM Tuesday November 4, 2014 at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Lincoln Memorial Park. There will be no public visitation.
