

Dorothy was born October 27, 1925 in Chikaming Twp., Michigan on a farm called “The Vinyard” the daughter of Raymond and Emma (Lowe) Gluth. She graduated from New Buffalo High School Class of 1944. Dorothy worked at Clark Equipment Company in Buchanan, Michigan where she met Ivan Price just days before he left to join the U.S. Navy to inform him he had a telephone call from his mother. She felt compelled to send letters to the young man through the rest of the duration of World War II. Upon Ivan Price’s discharge from the Navy he returned to Michigan and on May 6, 1946 Ivan and Dorothy were united in marriage at St. John United Church of Christ in Three Oaks, Michigan.
Ivan and Dorothy built their lives together on the dairy farm Alfalfa Knoll Farm in Buchanan Twp., Michigan where they raised their three children. Dorothy was a member of the St. John Congregation in Three Oaks where she was an active member until moving to Lincoln, Nebraska in 2011. She became a certified dental assistant and worked chair side for many years later joining Heath Kit Company in St. Joseph, Michigan. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, cross-stitch, braiding rugs, crocheting, reading, live theater and the birds that came to her birdfeeders. Her family was her life. Along with her 3 children, Dorothy was blessed with 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren as well as the love of her sister and brother-in-law and their two daughters and their children.
Dorothy is survived by her son Raymond of Lander, Wyoming; daughters Barbara (Richard) Danner of Holland, Michigan; Penny (Frank) Alderson of Lincoln, Nebraska; grandchildren; Kaitland Price of Lander, Wyoming; Alison Price of Phoenix, Arizona; Arthur (Jenelle) Danner of Grandville, Michigan; Stewart Alderson of Bellevue, Nebraska; Elizabeth (Bryan) Buss of Houston, Texas; great grandchildren; Gradin, Noelle, Zander, McKenna, Skylar; niece Diane Kerns, Paw Paw, Michigan; grand niece/nephews; Tammy (Peter), Michael, Matthew; great grand niece/nephews; Laura, Robert, Kaden, Alex.
She is preceded in death by her husband Ivan E. Price; her sister Eleanor J. Nimtz; brother-in-law Frederick “Bud” Nimtz; niece Sandra Stick.
Dorothy’s remains will be returned to Michigan for a private celebration of life at a later date.
Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.
