Dorothy E. Sanford, 99 of Lincoln passed away March 4, 2016. She was born on January 20, 1917 to Chas. and Elva (Leetsch) Woods in Douglas, NE. Dorothy married Gerald Sanford on December 24, 1936 in Denver, CO in this union they had 4 children: Judith, Larry, Glenda and Barbara. Gerald passed away in 2003. Survivors include daughters: Judith (Glen) Johnson of Lincoln, NE and Glenda (Stan) Ruhter of Prosser, NE; grandchildren: Michael (Kelly) Johnson, Mark (Karen) Johnson, Stacy (Larry) Loucks, Lane (Pam) Sanford, Paige (Jonathan) Felt, Justin (Sara) Sanford, Tony (Julie) Ruhter, Jamie Boettcher, Heidi (Travis) Whitten, Lindsey (Nathan) Garst, 21 great grandchildren 3 great great grandchildren, daughter-in-law Diane Sanford Overy, son-in-law Mike Smith, brother-in-law Curt (Pat) Sanford. Member Messiah Lutheran Church. Preceded in death by her husband Gerry, daughter Barbara, and son Larry, grandson Todd Ruhter, brothers: LaVern and Howard, son-in-law Art Boettcher. Memorial service will be held on Friday, March 11, 2016, 1:00 PM at Southlake Village, 9401 Andermatt Drive, Lincoln NE. Memorials to the family. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
