Dorothy "Dot" Rae Yanak, age 86, of Lincoln, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 29, 2020. Dorothy was born December 12, 1933 to Dewey and Gladys Weber. Dot lived her entire life with vibrancy. She has lifelong friends from every decade of her life and has maintained contact with many of them to this day. Dot loved her family members, immediate and extended. She loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and all babies. She was known as "camping grandma" by her grandchildren. She loved going to family reunions and had the gift of gab, was a fun storyteller and cheesy joke teller. She loved to travel and visit family and friends. She loved to share her many talents of singing, scrapbooking, jelly and jam making, baking bread at Christmas, baking pies for birthdays and celebrations, and her very beautiful tatted lace and bobbin lace creations which she won many blue ribbons for at the Nebraska State Fair. She loved her church, her minister, her church friends, and was a very strong supporter of Friendship Home making and selling her homemade jam to help people in need. She loved roses and enjoyed her beautiful rose garden. She loved her little dogs that she had throughout her lifetime: Zippy Zo, Peter Johnathan, Sammy Davis, and Poochie. She loved and always got a big kick when watching her husband and Poochie walk down to the park. Thanksgiving and Christmas were very much her favorite, as that was when her entire immediate family could get together and enjoy the celebration. She always put on a little program at Christmas where she would read a story to the family, and it was never Christmas until "mama cried" from the touching story. Now it's Christmas! She will be dearly missed. She is now in heaven with her Dad, Mom, brother and three sisters. Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of 32 years Richard Yanak; children, Dawn (Scott) Livingston, Ron (Shelly) Niles, David Niles; step-children, Sandra (Randy) Lee, Jackie Hernandez; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Friday, October 2, 2020 at Lincoln Memorial Park 6700 S 14th St. Lincoln, NE 68512. Everyone will meet at gate 2 at 1:45 pm.
