Duane E Folts

Duane Elroy Folts, 80 of Lincoln, NE went to his Heavenly home on Wednesday, March, 16, 2016. He was born August 14, 1935 in rural York County to George and Evelyn (Kohn) Folts. Duane married Lucille Schacht on June 8, 1963 and was blessed with three children. Michelle (Mike) Kalin, Springfield, NE, Russ (Paula) Folts, Milford, NE. and Brian (Kathy) Folts, Omaha, NE. Duane considered his greatest blessings his grandchildren: Craig, Andrew, Samantha, Dominick, Emily, and Joshua. Also survived by brother, Robert (Loa) Folts, Waverly, NE, and sister Twila (Lynn) Christiansen, Lincoln, NE, aunts, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Duane grew up and farmed on the family farm. He graduated from Bradshaw High School, served in the U.S. Army from 1956-1957. He worked for Kmart Corp. for 32 years and took pride in being Employee #4. During his early retirement he worked with Nebraska Lutheran Outdoor Ministries, spending most of his time at Camp Carol Joy Holling, Ashland, NE. He spent this past year as a member of the Arbors Memory Care Community family and we are forever grateful for the loving care he received there. Duane’s other areas of enjoyment included travel to the Sandhills of NE and Branson, MO. He enjoyed antique tractors and has built his own collection of wooden farm machine models. Duane’s sense of humor brings us countless hours of fond memories. Services will be held Saturday March 19th at 2:00pm at Spirit of Hope Lutheran Church, 5801 NW 1st St. Lincoln, NE 68521.
