Earl Behrends resided in rural Hickman, Nebraska. He was born on October 20, 1927 to Adolph and Helena Behrends. Earl married Darlene (Tiedeman) Behrends on August 13, 1960, they were married for 56 years. He passed away on November 5, 2016 at 89 years old. Earl spent his years as a dedicated farmer, loving husband and grandfather. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. Earl spent his recent days at Gold Crest Retirement Center. Earl is survived by his daughter, Chris Emerson and son-in-law Ron of Hickman; son, Greg Watson and daughter-in-law Debbie; son, Randy Watson; daughter, Cindy Watson; brother, Larry Behrends; 6 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Darlene; brother, Norman Behrends; sister, Maxine Zietz. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at 12:30 p.m. at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home with Pastor Kara Hillhouse of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may directed to the family for later designation.
