

Edna Pearl Wertz Ullrich, 93, of West Branch, IA, died July 23, 2014. Edna was born in Havelock, Nebraska February 7, 1921 to John and Amelia Wertz. Her father passed away when she was 2 and her mother married John Heimbuch when she was 5. Along with her brother Bill, the family moved to Grand Island where she attended school. On August 10, 1941 she was united in marriage with Marion Russell Ullrich from Broken Bow, Nebraska, where they made their home. They had three children: Diana, John, and Fred.
She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior in 1942 at services in the United Brethren church in Broken Bow.
After retirement, Russ and Edna travelled and spent winters in Florida with their daughter and family. In 1990, they moved to Lincoln, Nebraska, and in 2010 Edna moved to Coralville, IA, and recently to West Branch IA.
She was preceded in death by her husband Russ in 1994, her daughter Diana Bentley in 2000, and son-in-law Paul Bentley in 2010. She is survived by her two sons and their families: John and Clare of Davenport, IA and their son Christopher of Carbondale. CO; and Fred and Patricia of Iowa City, IA, and their sons Mason (and wife, Brynn) of Grass Valley CA, and Taylor of Lincoln, NE. She is also survived by two granddaughters and their families: Brenda Skeel (and husband, Reed, and Max and Maddie) of Shepherd, Ml; and Sonja Zant (and husband, Lou) of Salt Lake City UT.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, August 2, 2014, at 2:00 PM at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home in Lincoln, Nebraska, with private family interment. Services will be conducted by Dennis Swenson. Memorials to the Prairie Pioneer Senior Center in Broken Bow, Nebraska or to the People's City Mission in Lincoln, Nebraska.
