Edward Lyle Hestermann, 84, of Martell, NE, passed away Monday, December 13, 2021. He was born May 3, 1937, near Adams, NE, to Henry and Ada (Bax) Hestermann. He married Zola Runyan on December 11, 1960, at United Methodist Church, Ong, NE. They lived in Lincoln where he worked as a route salesman. In 1977 they moved to an acreage near Martell, NE, where he worked an additional part-time position for Bentzinger’s of Martell and volunteered for Southwest Fire and Rescue. He married Carolyn “Jean” Heywood Timmerman on September 23, 2006, at Deer Creek Sodbusters Chapel in Sterling, NE. He enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, birdwatching, gardening, and caring for his livestock.

Step-daughter and Husband, Ann and Michael Neiwohner, Scribner, NE; 11 Step-grandchildren; 2 Step-great-grandchildren; Sister, Joyce Gilliam, Lincoln, NE; Brother, Jim Hestermann and Wife Dianna, Adams, NE; Sisters-in-Law, Shirley Hestermann, Adams, NE, Joan Hestermann, Walton, NE, Carolyn Miller and Husband Ron, Larimore, ND; and countless nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his Parents; Late Wife, Zola; Son, Leslie Hestermann; Grandsons, Corrie Wittler, Lane Wittler, and Brad Hestermann Jr.; Brothers, Glenn Hestermann, and Wayne Hestermann.
Visitation will be held Saturday, December 18, 2021, at 10:00 AM, A Rosary Service at 10:30 AM, and Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 AM, at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church. 7105 Cass Ave, Denton, NE.
