

He graduated from Lincoln High School where he played a bass horn in the school band.
He moved to Colorado Springs in 1947 where he met and married Dorothy Fay Hill on April 11, 1948 and returned to Lincoln in 1951. They had three daughters and were married 65 years before Dorothy went to heaven in January 2014.
He worked as a machinist and used those skills in retirement to create a miniature carnival which was displayed at various country fairs and farm shows.
He is survived by daughters Janice (Jan) Masters (Denver, CO), Gloria Medcalf (Karl) (Houston, TX), Bonnie Troutt (Dan) (Lincoln, NE), grandsons Adam Troutt, Richard Masters and Brandon Masters, and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and older brother Robert (Bob) M. Oliver.
