Eleanor J Campbell

Eleanor (Ellie) J. Campbell age 82 of Lincoln passed away on Monday, October 17, 2016 at her home. She was born on August 19, 1934 in Kearney, Nebraska to Everett and Mayble (Springer) Whitaker. She grew up in Lincoln and graduated from Lincoln High School. She married Wayne Campbell on February 28, 1954 in Lincoln. They moved to Golden, Colorado in 1959. She worked for the Bureau of Standards in Boulder, and the Bureau of Reclamation in Lakewood. After Ellie retired from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department in 2001, she returned to Lincoln. Ellie was active in Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for over 50 years, TRIAD, and was a Bryan Hospital volunteer. She was an avid reader. Ellie is survived by her sons, Steve and Pat Campbell of Farrell, Pennsylvania; Mark and Lisa Campbell of Lakewood, Colorado; grandsons, Thomas Campbell of Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas; Dylan and Tiffany Campbell and Nathan Campbell of Lakewood, Colorado; granddaughter, Catherine Campbell of Laurel, Maryland; great-grandchildren, Cooper and Adalyn; brother, Dale and Fran Whitaker of Newton, North Carolina; sister, Leona Moorberg of Estherville, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation. Visitation will be on Monday, October 24, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral service will be on Monday, October 24, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery.
