Elizabeth A. “Liz” Hawkins, age 67 of Lincoln, died Saturday, January 24, 2015 after a 13 year battle with breast cancer. Born in Lincoln to Elmer and Nellie (Harms) Hessheimer. She was a retired braillist for the Lincoln Public Schools retiring after many years of service. Liz enjoyed traveling, camping and was known to visit the casinos occasionally. Preceded in death by her parents and brother Dean, she is survived by her husband of 44 years, Bob; children Jodi (Richard) Bradfield, Chad Hawkins; grandchildren Chelsea, Jesse, Tawni, Jacob and Jaden; great grandchildren Kyle, Tyler, Zachary and Zoey; brothers Elmer (Linda) Hessheimer, David (Karen) Hessheimer; nieces and nephews. Funeral service 3PM, Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S. 14th St. Lincoln. Visitation from 4-8pm Tuesday at the funeral home with family receiving friends from 6-8pm. Memorials to the American Cancer Society.
