

Francis "Frank" E. Dickerson passed away on June 1, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family and friends. His courage and commitment to his family and those around him was seen throughout his lifetime including the battles with his health.
Frank was born to Patricia and Earl Dickerson on November 14, 1953, in Hastings, Nebraska. Frank attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and received his Bachelor's degree in Education with post-baccalaureate education in history, centering on Nebraska history. During this time, he met his wife, Mary in July 1975 and they married on October 27, 1979, at St. Cecilia's Church in Hastings, Nebraska.
He worked to help people better their lives including teaching, mental health coordinator and various roles at the Department of Health and Human Services.
Frank was an avid golfer and lover of Husker sports - especially football. This love of sports extended to instilling this love to his children. Frank's love of music was seen with running his music shop and attending concerts throughout this region. Frank loved spending time with family attending live shows - including music and stand-up comedy.
Frank is survived by his wife, Mary, son Sean Francis Dickerson, daughter Emily Dickerson Hamner (Marcus), grandson Boston Lee Hamner, sister Kelli Foss (Roger), nieces Brittany and Ashley Foss and nephew Bejamin Foss (Rachel).
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Patricia and Earl Dickerson and his sister Diana.
A celebratory party in his hometown of Hastings will occur soon.
