Ms. Freda F Oltman

Freda Fay (Coates) Oltman, 95, of Lincoln, died Thursday, May 14, 2016, in Lincoln. Freda was born February 15, 1931, in Beatrice, Nebraska, to Fred and Elizabeth (Engel) Coates. Freda married Richard Oltman on June 13, 1948. Richard and Freda farmed in the Cortland area until 1963 when they moved to Friend, Nebraska. Richard and Freda farmed and lived south of Friend until they moved to Lincoln in 1994.

Richard and Freda were married for 65 years. Freda is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Barbara and Lowell Redler of Dakota Dunes, SD, Sandra Petersen of Lincoln, sons and daughters-in-law Roger and Cheri (Grieser) Oltman of Lincoln, Steve and Dixie (Davis) Oltman of Utica, NE. Darrell and Sara (Yound) Oltman of Lincoln, 16 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by husband, Richard Oltman, parents Fred and Elizabeth Coates, brothers Lester, Thomas, Dale and Marvin, sisters Luella, Laurine, June, Carol and Donna, grandson Daniel Oltman, daughter-in-law Karen (Hunke) Oltman, son-in-law Randall Petersen.

Visitation from 4-8 PM, with family greeting from 6-8 PM, Monday, May 18, 2026, at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S 14th Street, Lincoln, Nebraska. Funeral service at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Faith Lutheran Church, 8701 Adams Street, Lincoln, Nebraska. Burial will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, Beatrice, Nebraska, following luncheon at church. Memorials to Faith Lutheran Church.
