It was easy for everyone to see a humble, kind and gentle man. George was a generous and loving husband, father and grandpa. What people didn't always realize was the talent, skill and abilities George kept hidden.
George could play by ear over a dozen different musical instruments. He could produce intricate and precise drawings. If he was faced with household items needing repair, he would nearly always find a way to fix them.
But best of all, George loved his family. His children were blessed by him, and his grandchildren adored him. On the day George died, he was looking forward to being united in Heaven with all of them again someday.
George was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Jerine Deemer; brother, Frank; sister, Waltena Neptune; and an infant brother and sister, Joseph and Pearl.
George is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Gary Deemer and Julie; daughter and son-in-law, Suzette Powell and Kirk; mother of grandsons David and Jonathan, Lisette Parks.
George has four grandchildren; grandson David Deemer and wife, April; grandson, Jonathan Deemer; granddaughter, Candice McConnell and husband, Chris; grandson, Thad Powell and wife, Starla. George was also blessed with five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for George Deemer will be held at 10:00 AM on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S. 14th Street, Lincoln, Nebraska. Entombment will immediately follow in Lincoln Memorial Park with military honors.
