

Gloria Jean (Hergenrader) Dockery, 80, of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away September 10, 2026. Born November 21, 1945, Gloria was the second of three children born to her parents, Harry and Helen (Tripple) Hergenrader, of Lincoln, Nebraska.
She graduated from Lincoln High School. While living in Lincoln, Gloria was a longtime member of First German Congregational Church. She lived in Lincoln until moving to Omaha in 1985.
Over the years, Gloria held several positions, bringing steady dedication to her work. She spent the last 15 years of her career in the fragrance department of Von Maur at Westroads in Omaha. She was a very familiar face to the customers of Von Maur.
In 1990, Gloria reunited with James Dockery, a friend from high school. They married in 1992 and shared their life together in Omaha. They enjoyed going to the movies and the casino together. They also would go out to dinner with family and friends.
Gloria was a simple person who valued what mattered most—time with family. She often stayed busy in her spare time decorating her home in which she took much pride.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Diane Groves-Lebsock. She is survived by her husband, James Dockery; her daughter, Kim (John) Hohl; Kim's children, her grandchildren Mikaela and Ethan Pechar; her brother, Doug (Lynn) Hergenrader; as well as nieces, nephews, other family members and many close friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on September 18, 2026, at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 South 14th Street, Lincoln, Nebraska. A private family burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials are designated to a charity of your choice in her honor..
