
Greg was born on February 28, 1948, in St. Louis, Missouri to his loving parents LaVonne Kelley and Harmon Joseph Ogren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his cherished cousins Colleen Wolthuis, Timothy Kelley, and Robert Ogren.
He is survived by his brothers Frederic Ogren, M.D. of Omaha, NE and Eric (Amy) Ogren, M.D. of Pittsburgh PA; his beloved niece Sarah (Christopher Leech) Ogren of Falls Church, VA and his cherished nephew Andrew (Alexandra) Ogren of Summit, NJ; as well as many cousins.
Greg faced many serious medical challenges throughout his life, yet he persevered with incredible strength. He served as a great inspiration to others, recognizing that the most important things in life were his faith, kindness to others, and his family. Greg will also be remembered for his love of history.
The family would like to express gratitude to Barbara and Jerome Einspahr; Emerald Nursing & Rehabilitation Lakeview; as well as AseraCare Hospice, for their compassionate care.
Per the wishes of Greg, there was no visitation. A private family burial was held at South Marion cemetery, Stratford, Iowa. A Memorial Service will be at the National City Christian Church, Washington, DC at a later date.
