Henry Dyer Nelson

March 28, 2000 – December 17, 2024
Obituary of Henry Dyer Nelson
IN THE CARE OF

Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home & Cemetery

Henry Dyer Nelson, age 24, of Lincoln, Nebraska passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2024.

Squisher. Sunshine. Hdog. Henry.

Henry was the sunshine in everyone's day. The smile that lit up the room. The helping hand that cared for and loved everyone. Smart, funny, charismatic and more. If you knew him you loved him.

And loved he did. He loved deeply and hard and wore it on his sleeve. His family, especially his brothers, were the center of Henry’s universe. While he had other interests and hobbies, family always came first. He made us laugh and feel important and truly appreciated. He was the light in all of our lives and in the lives of all who met him.

He was an amazing father figure to Alaia and partner to Jasriel and both brought much joy to his life. We are thankful he got to experience this joy in his short time on earth.

He lived his dash to the fullest and taught all of us to do the same. I remember when Henry was five, we were in Hawaii and Henry said "I don't know why we live in Nebraska and visit Hawaii... It should be the other way around." He also in recent years said "I will always work to live - not live to work." His whole perspective of life was so well adjusted and was the way we all should live and love each and every day.

He loved sports passionately - especially the Denver Broncos, Colorado Rockies and Denver Nuggets. He was so smart and talked about sports with knowledge to rival any broadcaster, quoting numbers and statistics.

There are no words for the loss we are feeling. We loved him with all of our hearts and he will be missed dearly.

In lieu of flowers the family requests designations that they will distribute to Lancaster County Drug Court, SAFE Project, and Shatterproof.
