Imogene I. “Genie” Thies, 82, of Lincoln, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on December 2, 2015. She was born in Tecumseh, Ne to Fred and Opal (Hickey) Parrish. She married the love of her life, Harold, on December 12, 1951. She waged a courageous battle with COPD for many years. Survivors: Son: Harold (Darcie) Thies Jr. Daughters: Caroline (John) Rezac and Denise (Michael) Burnham, all of Lincoln. Grandchildren: Genie, Bobby and Jennifer Thies, Lindsey Bartsch, Kiley Eastwood, Alex Rezac, Jeremy, Jason and Jessie Popelka. Anthony and Nicholas Burnham, 22 Great-Grandchildren and 5 Great-Great-Grandchildren. Sister: Doris Sporhase. Sister-in-law: LaVay Parrish. Brother-in-law: Wilburn “Tex” Bailey. Many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by: Husband: Harold. Parents, Granddaughter: Genie. Grandson: James Thies. Brother: Don Parrish. Sister: Reta Bailey.
